Elizabeth-Anne’s journey began in restaurant management, where she discovered the profound impact of training and upskilling on both personal growth and team performance. This realization propelled her into pivotal roles, including her tenure at Spur Steak Ranches, where she trained and mentored new franchisees, and as Head of Human Relations, Marketing, and Skills Development for the Quintet of Cuisines. In the latter role, she spearheaded training initiatives for 480 employees across four restaurants, solidifying her reputation as a leader in workforce development.
In 2019, Elizabeth-Anne’s path crossed with Charlene, the visionary founder of Hands Up for Reaching Potential (HURP), an innovative program aimed at combating poverty, creating jobs, and empowering rural communities through accredited education and training in ICT, retail, and hospitality. Together, they have transformed HURP into a beacon of hope, successfully graduating over 267 students—including facilitators, assessors, and project managers—despite the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, as a partner at Proacto and Innovatu, Elizabeth-Anne continues to drive impactful change by fostering collaborative environments that prioritize team development and empower the next generation. Her dedication to mentorship, lifelong learning, and community upliftment is further exemplified by her role on the Knysna Business Chamber board, where she actively contributes to local economic growth and development.
Elizabeth-Anne Vertue’s passion for training and her commitment to creating sustainable change have established her as a respected leader in skills development and education. Her innovative programs and proven track record make her an invaluable partner for donors and organizations seeking to invest in transformative education projects that deliver lasting, meaningful impact.
